12 Success Tips for Aspiring Entrepreneurs

I was reading one of Entrepreneur's articles of 21 successful tips for young and aspiring entrepreneurs and wanted to give my thoughts on 12 of them. In business, your mindset plays a vital part to the amount of success you will have. This is a great starting point for anyone considering beginning  any type of business venture.

1. Challenge Yourself

You may never know the great things you’re capable of if you never try. By challenging yourself you will get real world experience rather than theories of what is possible.

2. Do Work You Care About

Steve Jobs noted that to be satisfied in your life, do work that you truly believe in. Having a passion for what you do will motivate you to put in the time to get things done regardless of circumstances.

3. Take The Risk

Not ever trying can be the worst kind of failure because you never truly know if something is possible until it is attempted. Failure is just a way to show you want you think is right is actually wrong and learning is a necessary requirement for growth in your life.

4. Believe In Yourself

Henry Ford said, “Whether you think you can, or think you can’t, you’re right.” You’ve made accomplishments in the past , now keep moving forward to make some new ones.

5. Have A Vision

Your vision is the destination and your plan is the road map. Always keep your vision clear and follow the path that leads toward it and you will arrive at your destination even if having to take a few detours along the way..

6. Find Good People

Reid Hoffman, co-founder of LinkedIn, noted that the fastest way to change yourself is to hang out with people who are already the way you want to be. Take a look at the people that you surround yourself with.

Do they add to you are suck the life out of you. Those you spend time with should build you up and in turn get better from knowing you. Being surrounded by the wrong people will do neither.

7. Face Your Fears

The acronym for fear is False Evidence Appearing Real. The lessons that fear teaches is that the best way to overcome it is to confront it to get the facts. Learning how to drive can be scary at first, but by the time you get your driver’s license, the ability to drive changes your life.

8. Take Action

Walt Disney once said that the easiest way to get started is to quit talking and start doing. In order to become an expert at anything, you must first go through being an amateur. Take massive, imperfect action until you learn how to take smaller perfected action.

9. Do The Time

Steve Jobs noted, “If you look closely, most overnight successes took a long time.” Don’t ever judge your success by someone else’s time table. Having success is like running a marathon, not a sprint. In order to have a chance at winning you have to finish the race.

 10. Build A Great Team

Business is a team sport. One person can build a house alone, but many people can build more houses, faster and with more combined years of experience. Learn how to surround yourself with the best and delegate tasks to others with more knowledge than you. Don’t try to be your own attorney, just hire the best and you’re covered.

11. Know Your Customer

Dave Thomas, the founder of Wendy’s, cited knowing your customer as one of his three keys to success. It’s important to know the problem that your customers need solved in order for you to provide the best solution. Targeting a great product or service to the wrong audience is a recipe for disappointment.

12. Deliver More Than Expected

Google's Larry Page encourages entrepreneurs to deliver more than customers expect. A business that provides a negative experience today is easily identified. Just read some reviews online. The flip side of having  instance access to how businesses treat their customers is by going the extra mile, word of great service gets around quickly.
